Speech Code‘s Talking Labels Help the Blind; Khushi Baby’s Mobile Medical App Enables India’s Clinicians to Monitor Infant Health, and Dimple’s Shortcut Buttons Accelerate Mobile Access
It is said that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas but the NFC Forum turned that maxim on its head today with the unveiling of its three top award winners in its NFC Forum Innovation Awards ceremony at the Green Valley Ranch in Las Vegas. Almost 100 of the world’s leading NFC technologists gathered at the member meeting to recognize, cheer and fete nine of the most innovative NFC-enabled product, services and applications of 2016/17. The three overall winners from the nine Finalists were cited and applauded for their innovative use of NFC technology and received NFC Innovation Award trophies.
The event was hosted by NFC Chairman Koichi Tagawa and Vice Chairman Alexander Rensink under the Las Vegas night-time sky. Attendees enjoyed cocktails — including the NXP-tini, concocted in honor of the award ceremony sponsor – hors d’oeuvres and networking. Videos of each of the nine Finalist’s products played in the background while the thrilling three top award winners were honored with trophies. The six Finalists were also recognized and honored for their achievement with a certificate.
The winners and Finalists were selected from almost 100 entries from 34 countries and represent some of the “best of the best” for NFC innovation. Entries were judged on their innovation, commercial potential, and usability as well as on the quality of design and implementation.
